---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have no idea why , but there are stone cats hidden around York England. If you wish to do the Fabulous York Cat Trail, go on line for a map . There are 22 cats, i"ve shown just a few. ---The easiest to find is ,on your route from York Station, as you cross over the river ouse, this cat is on the right on a window sill of some offices. ---------These cats have been there years, its only resent that the trail has been introduced, keeps big kids and little kids happy.!-------I"ve just come across a info leaflet that says cat statue have been on York buildings for two hundred years, some are thought to date from medieval times.--- The original cat statues were placed to frighten away rats and mice and also bring good luck.----I took these photos on several shopping trips into town,so i don"t know how long the trail takes.
